Barclays Names Ryan Voegeli as Head of Investment Banking in Canada

Barclays has appointed Ryan Voegeli as the Head of Investment Banking for Canada, and he will be stationed in Toronto.

With twenty years of experience in investment banking, Mr. Voegeli has been appointed as the Head of Investment Banking for Canada at Barclays. He comes from CIBC Capital Markets, where he served as the Head of Global Diversified Industries Investment Banking, overseeing a successful team across multiple locations. Before joining CIBC in 2011, he held the position of Head of Canadian Telecom, Media & Technology Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Voegeli has played crucial roles in numerous significant transactions. Notable examples include advising the Special Committee of Shaw Communications in the $26 billion sale to Rogers Communications, guiding Shaw Communications in its $1.6 billion acquisition of Wind Mobile, and providing counsel to George Weston Limited on the sale of Weston Foods. He was also involved in advising Loblaw on its $845 million acquisition of Lifemark Health Group and the $460 million IPO of Choice Properties. Other highlights include advising TELUS on its $2.9 billion acquisition of Lifeworks and GFL on its $5.125 billion recapitalization led by BC Partners and OTPP. Additionally, Mr. Voegeli has extensive experience in Initial Public Offerings, having served as Joint Bookrunner for TELUS International's $1.4 billion IPO, Ceridian's US$531 million IPO, Aritzia's $460 million IPO, and Hudson’s Bay Company's $380 million IPO.
